Beth Kallman Werner has been a professional editor and small business developer since the age of 20, when she launched PAPER MAKEOVER to help ESL students at CUNY Brooklyn College. After college Beth worked for the NYC Bar Association in the Executive Office and also for the Legal Referral Service, as Director of Marketing & Publications. In this role she worked on committees with specialized attorneys and judges to create pamphlets for public education. Beth also planned National Law Day events that took place in all five boroughs of NYC.

After deciding not to be an attorney, Beth spent 2 years in Fortune 500 event production and then 16 years in b2b magazine publishing; gaining practical training and first-hand experience in consultative selling, customer relations, and integrated marketing strategies. Her primary focus was advertising sales, designing custom brand and product campaigns in various vertical industries. During this time, Beth worked with and counseled some of the largest companies in the world.

During her nearly two decades in ad sales, Beth served international clients and partnered with sister-media in both Japan and China, giving her the opportunity to experience foreign cultures in a business environment. These relationships were an eye-opening education about how some people lead, and others follow.

In 2010 Beth left the corporate world to launch Author Connections, LLC, a company created to educate, encourage and empower authors. She currently works with publishers and authors, providing editing and marketing services to an exclusive roster of select clients. Her professional mission is to support high quality, multi-media content for hungry readers.

In her personal life, Beth has been happily married for 12 years. She lives with her husband and their chocolate lab, Gatsby, in a home they designed and built in the woods of PA. Her passions are travel, gourmet cooking and dining, photography, and gardening. Her own book, Travels of an Independent Woman (#readtiw) is coming soon…
